I dressed up for a meeting with a student's parents today. I always get nervous for meetings, even if they are good meetings. I remember when I was in highschool and my mom met with my grade eight woodworking teacher: "Jessica is doing great in class, we have never had someone make wooden shoes before. But, she spends an awful lot of time with her boyfriend..." = dead meat. I was teased to no end. I didn't even have a boyfriend. I just liked this one guy a whole lot, which was worse, because then I was teased for liking this one guy a whole lot. I will never forget that. Neither will my mom.
