FURLING FORESTS FOR THE SOFT

Shirt: Gap, Necklaces: American Eagle, Coat: handmade

Spring is coming! So glad I finally don't have to wear my toque every time I go outside. Last night called for a kinda nature-looking blouse and my shearling coat. And at school, two new art projects to celebrate: family trees with fingerpaint leaves and tempura greenery with fabric flowers (framed). My classroom is literally blooming.

ONLY LOVE IS ALL MAROON

Pants: H&M, Shirt: French Connection, Necklaces: Blue Ruby, Rings: Stella & Dot, Nail polish: American Apparel, Shoes: Aldo

I swear I was the only person at my elementary school who was not wearing red or pink today, which definitely made me realize I need some red and pink in my wardrobe asap. Jewellery and nail polish will have to suffice for this year. Happy Valentine's!

FOR THE LOVE I'D FALLEN ON

Preparations for tomorrow at school. So much better to spend Valentine's with kids I think, they know what matters: writing a sweet sentiment to a friend, enjoying each others' company, eating treats.
Love in its most simplest form.

FLAMING MY EVERY CELL

Have had my fair share of blisters from runs past but this one definitely takes the cake. I must admit, there is something so satisfying in bragging about the injury rather than the race itself, and although this half marathon was my best time yet, I'll be secretly proud of the fact that my feet will be wearing sandals for the next week or two.

HON, IT WASN'T YET THE SPRING

Shirt: Gap, Shorts: American Eagle, Coat: handmade

I really wanted a shearling coat so I just made one instead. Material cut up and re-used from my Halloween costume. All I can think about is how perfect it will be for music festivals, which are already getting lined up in my spring schedule, and cue the optimistic photos with shorts and bare legs.

THIS IS NOT A PLACE NOT YET AWAKE

Coat: Wilfred Free, Black slip: Club Monaco, Shirt dress: Gap, Boots: Kelsi Dagger, Bag: Coach, Toque: Rebelrebel, Nail polish: American Apparel

Sunshine is always nice, but there's just something about Vancouver when it's overcast. If you do live here, you have to love those rainy, cloudy days because they are much more common than the sunny ones, and eventually they become preferable to me. Love going for a walk around town, a toque and a hooded jacket over an umbrella any day, high heeled boots to keep my feet dry, and the day off from school.
The perfect Friday afternoon.

IT CLUTCHED THE LIGHT

Shirt: Gap, Bracelet: handmade

Ahh I love bright colours. Didn't even realize that my nails matched my shirt today until one of my students told me I looked 'just like Spring'. Heart mosaics completed and hung up in the hallway, in time for Valentine's next week. One of the best art projects my kids have done to date. They get so excited whenever they see someone stop and look at them, teachers and students stop in their tracks to admire, but honestly it's hard not to. So proud of my little ones.

I'M GROWING LIKE THE QUICKENING HUES

Pants: Lululemon, Shoes: Aldo, Shirt: Gap

New running pants for my half marathon this upcoming weekend but I just couldn't help wearing them to school today. Starting to wonder why I don't have more tye-dye in my wardrobe, it's so so fun!

AND AT ONCE I KNEW I WAS NOT MAGNIFICENT

Breathtaking fog over Vancouver today, passed through in minutes that you had to take pictures then and there or you'd miss it. Times like these that make me so happy I live here.

Heart ring: American Eagle

ALL THIS TIME, WITH YOUR HEART IN MIND

Sweater: Tommy Hilfiger, Shirt: an old jersey, Jeans: Gap, Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Don't you just love, the words you hear from someone, can put you in the best mood for the whole day?
